4stars for the food. 4 stars for the service. This French Bistro is a true gem of the desert! There's no where in the desert where you can get escargot and frog legs! For those who aren't adventurous to try those items, there are many other good options to choose from! Our party of 10 was very satisfied with their dishes! The only complaint I have was with the dessert, the creme brûlée was not up to par.. It lacked flavor and freshness. Overall the value for authentic French food was excellent !

I dined here with my boyfriend and had the FRESH oysters on the half shell. They were delicious. Then my boyfriend had the special which was trout, it was fantastic. But my seafood fettuccini was absolutely amazing. There was so much seafood absorbing the most delicious sauce. I would defiantly dine here again for the great food and great service.

We were in there for dinner Jennifer was our server. She was so efficient and didn't miss one thing. Expert server. The food was great we had veal cutlets and properly cooked vegetables. The place was packed and staffed to the nines as other eateries should be doing this season with so many people in this desert right now. We loved everything about it.

I visited with my husband the beginning of December for a romantic dinner near home. It really wasn't a horrible experience. It was just a little mixed. When we arrived, we were escorted to the table next to the fountain as promised with a heat lamp nearby since I wanted to enjoy the patio but get cold easily. But the heat lamp wasn't even working! But they exchanged it quickly with a working one and all was well. For the appetizer I ordered the escargot and my husband ordered the French onion soup. The escargot was average but the French onion soup was amazing! For our entree I ordered the beef tenderloin and Roquefort sauce. The filet was delicious and the portobello ravioli it came with was pretty good. My husband enjoyed his seafood fettuccini well enough. We don't normally order dessert but the pear tart served with salted caramel ice cream sounded too intriguing. It really was delicious! But I would have loved to try the almond cream it was supposed to come with. My husband said his warm chocolate lava cake was laking "lava." Describing the service is going to be a little bit of a challenge. It wasn't horrible. But it was different. Normally service is warm and centered around making you comfortable. But our waiter was so timid and almost frightened, I felt I had to make him feel comfortable. Maybe he's new? If so, I understand. He was polite as can be but if he just relaxed a little it would help us feel relaxed.

Wow this restaurant is everything you would expect from an amazing chef. The dishes are always well thought out and delicious. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairing. Most of all it takes me back to a small restaurant that I used to eat at when I was small. The last time I was in or sever was Mike. A true professional he mad what was an amazing meal even better with his top notch recommendations and prompt service. Bravo chef Bravo a true masterpiece in a city of mediocrity!

We stopped here after a long long day of traveling from Nebraska. We were killing time before checking into our resort and needed some lunch. This place was AMAZING! The service was great and the ambiance and food was even better. I got the Caribbean Jerk Chicken Salad with the chilled cucumber/pepper soup and my boyfriend got the Ahi Tuna Burger. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Thursday at6:15 we went to this restaurant. We have been here at least 15 times.WeWere completely ignored by six or seven wait staff. After 20mins I went and asked the bar tender if the had table service in the bar area where we were sitting. He said check with the hostess. Then he asked a waitress if it was her table. She said no and ignored us.We walked out and will never go back. They have lost a regular customer.

The hours are misleading. Online says they are open until 10pm, but expect to be turned away at 9:10pm. Apparently the kitchen closes much earlier. This should be noted on their hours.

La Brasserie is the bomb. Good food, nice ambiance and convenient location. Service is slow but attentive (does that even compute?) and the price is more than you wanted to spend, but worth it. First off, could someone fix the capital A in the Yelp description. Secondly, this menu is perfect. I cant imagine anyone in a party being unable to find something that they will like. I did read GlutenGirl's review, but a traditional European restaurant is the last place to look for gluten-free fare. Standouts were the Caprese, Beet Salad, Seafood Salad, Wienerschnitzel and Prime Top Sirloin. I especially enjoyed that the steaks are on the small side. I am fine with a 6oz steak, I don't need a beef-induced food coma when it is 106 degrees outside. I will be back!

Delicous!!! We had lunch here and I loved the shrimp salad. The dressing was the absolute best. Very fresh veggie and the shrimp could not have been better..The cauliflower soup was wonderful and creamy. Hmmm. Excellent. I enjoyed every bite..they have a wonderful overall menu. I can't wait to go back. They have a great wine selection as well. Very nice comfortable restaurant with wonderful service. Next time i am going to forget the diet!!

LOVE IT! Service was perfect, the escargot divine, the roasted beets salad refreshing, the boeuf bourguignon superb and the Ile Flottante was sublime! I was back in time, at my grand mere's house!

Oh my God do I love this place. I had reservations for two for my wife and I to celebrate our 2 year anniversary and La Brasserie Bistro was SOOO accommodating and made us feel like we were a million bucks. The food was amazing and the ambiance (aside from the annoying drunk old folks) was delightful, a small fountain and high walls to hide the rest of the parking lot made us feel like we were back in the small parts of France. Try the soup du jour, they're all great. The Charcuterie was great and the cheese selections were delectable. Great sized portions and beautifully dressed plates made me want to keep eating. We got to meet the chef and owner and he is the the nicest guy, he was enjoying drinks with the employees, "testing" new martinis and mixed drinks. I will definitely be coming here if not annually then with friends and family when we can come to La Quinta/Palm Springs. Thank you La Brasserie Bistro! Enjoy!

We went last night with a couple friends. We used to go a lot to this restaurant when we lived in Indian Wells.. but I believe I will no longer do the effort coming now from Rancho Mirage. I ordered 1/2 dozen escargots: received an escargot soup.... asked for toast...waiter told me there was bread in the basket... ordered steak tartare and french fries, never had a steack tartare as repulsive fries were cold..but I received toasts!!!probably the one for the escargots.. I guess because I sent back the escargots they didn't like me any longer. Too bad this was an excellent restaurant but needs a good manager who surveys his waiters..the food is not consistent, the service was below everything. I certainly will try it again 1 day , but in the winter .. my wife loves their Choucroute but this one lacked spices and the Cesar salad ... 2 drops of dressing!!! 50$/ a head ... for food only really not worth it : Yesterday maybe better next time. An off day in a restaurant happens.

Came from Los Angeles a week ago and tried La Brasserie. So sick of paying good money for crap service and food. Well we did not encounter that here. Wow was the food good and so was the service. What a pleasure. Cheap no but you pay for what you get. Keep up good work LB.

Service was wonderful! Sylvia was our wonderful waitress that had so much knowledge about the menu and made our evening very fun and memorable. The menu is french with some Austrian influences with everything from mussels and frites to schnitzel. I tried a drink called Midnight in Paris- peach vodka and champagne- I loved it. I had two! Other winner of the evening were the french onion soup and trout almondine. Portions are very good, not as "French" as you might think. I know we ordered dessert, but it's all a little foggy after 2 Midnight in Paris'. Th atmosphere was very cute and relaxing. Made you totally forget that you're in the middle of a strip mall across from a sports bar.

I love coming to this place! What makes this place different is the fantastic service. Very friendly and where as many high end restaurants in the area have good food and ok service at best, this place offers both. I come for their happy hour because it's a great deal, and the bartender makes a fantastic Manhattan!

Best French restaurant/ bistro I've ever ate at, hands down! Chef Emanuel knows what he's doing in the kitchen making the food extremely rich and flavorful. FYI, you may want to consider the mussels and dip your bread in the butter sauce. Sooo good!

We went there on a very busy night during the Holidays and they were able to accommodate us without any problem. While the food is French there was plenty on the menu for those who just wanted a steak (Hangar Steak was delicious with truffle fries. ) My Veal Cordon Bleu was wonderful and can't wait to go back.

Truly a gem in the desert! I came for the escargot and French onion soup, what I got was not just a great meal, but a total experience! Their back patio whisks you away from the hustle and bustle, with an ambience that is upscale but relaxed. White tablecloths and the sound of water from the nearby fountain paired with attentive but unobtrusive staff and incredible food brought back memories of time spent with my mother in France. Wonderfully authentic in feel and flavor - highly recommend!

I came here for lunch today, it was my first visit I had the Caribbean Salad with Chicken, although I subbed out the dressing it came with for balsamic. When the salad first arrived, my first impression was they were stingy with the amount of lettuce. The serving size seemed small to me. However as I ate it, I enjoyed the amount of fresh fruit and chicken breast in it, and was reasonably full. If you are a big eater, don't get that particular salad. My friends had other dishes where the service size looked fine. Sit on the patio, it's quite nice. Service was ok- not bad in any way, but I wasn't blown away by anyone's personality. All in all, nice place, good, fresh food, well presented. I'd come back.

My wife and I have been to this restaurant on a few occasions, however we always sit at the bar and have appetizers. This was our first time we ate in the restaurant proper. As always, the service was good, as were the appetizers. I wish I could say the same about the main course. My wife ordered the Poulet Cocotte "grand Mere". Unfortunately, the chicken was so fatty and full a grizzle that she had to pick around to find those pieces of meat that were edible. I ordered the Hanger Steak "bordelaise". I asked for it to be prepared to a medium temp, which it was. But I was disappointed that it had been sitting under the warming lights for so long that all the meat was dried out. However, the waitress who was otherwise attentive was not in the least concerned that we both had only picked at our food. This was our first bad experience at this restaurant. I am willing to give them another chance, but one more bad meal and they get deleted from my address book.

This is a wonderful place to sit out on the patio and enjoy a beautiful day. Their onion soup is sensational and we really enjoyed the chocolate mousse for dessert. Their quiche is truly French and fluffy. If you want the best possible service be sure and asked for Carol because she is the ultimate!

I ordered the Vegan Ravioli and was promptly told it is not Vegan. It has eggs and butter in it. So why would they call it Vegan on the menu?! Also, my husband was going to order the seafood pasta, but was encouraged to order the pork chops. Think this could have happened to get a bigger tip. Doubt we will be returning .

What a great French restaurant in the middle of the desert - I was pleasantly surprised! Started off with a Beet Salad and an order of Escargot Bourgogne which was amazing! I had the Hangar Steak Salad which was also very good. The staff was friendly and attentive and the Pineapple and Melon Mojito's weren't bad either!

We are here in off season. I have seen how crazy busy this place is during season. That must say something. This is our first time here. Off season, August. Food is amazing. The flavors are incredible. Service is fabulous. Can't wait to come back over and over again.

Food wasn't the best. Mine came out so hot that it took me FOREVER to eat! Not a whole lot of flavor either. The escargot was fair. I'll be back to give it a second try, and will do an update review. Will definitely go back to try their happy hour. It looked pretty good.

Authentic and excellent french bistro food. Menu covers most typical bistro fares (steak frites, liver, moules marinieres, duck confit...). Equivalent hard to find in the desert. Highly recommended.

What a great place to dine. Our wait person Christina was excellent. Beet salad delicious. Mussels, frog legs and Pomme Frite all great. Wine list by the glass perfect. What's not to like? Nothing. A wonderful addition to the restaurant scene in the desert.

Well I walked in to La Brasserie Birstro & Bar to have Dinner will my sister (Visiting from out of town) & My Wife. The Young Hostesses asked if I have a reservation (Patio was full, In-side was empty) we said no we were just walking in. Hostesses rudely stated that it could be a long wait! - I said Okay walked out walked over to the Beer Hunter we had dinner. I walked back in to La Brasserie just to see how busy I could be? well it was still EMPTY... I guess this restaurant this guest for good.

2 hours to get served. Over cooked food. Bad service. Confused waiter. Worst dining experience in 2 years. Arrived @ 7pm. Finally got bill @ 9:35. Took 30 min. To get a glass of wine.

I was able to partake of this place a few weeks back. Sat in the bar at one of the high tops and order the seafood croquette and the duck confit tacos. I could eat a million of the duck tacos- excellent. The croquette was good but beware. It had octopus and squid as part of the seafood medley, so if you don't like that don't order it. I enjoyed a dessert of the peach mouse and a Maker's Mark Manhattan. Also fun to people watch in the desert.

Stopped in for a late lunch after the La Quinta Arts Festival. We were seated on the patio which was quite charming and had the feeling of a French Bistro. Our waiter introduced himself, offered us water. When he returned we had to ask for a wine menu, then there was a lapse of time before he returned to take our order. He was not familiar with the menu. We noticed the menu stated it was available between 2 and 4;30, we asked to see a lunch menu as we were specifically looking for mussels as they were highly recommended to us by friends. At the end of our meal we were told the mussels are available only upon request???? The lunch was delicious, the ambiance was beautiful, the service was less than mediocre.

We have been to this restaurant many times and without exception, we have had delicious food and great service. This is a nice place to celebrate an occasion, and also a great place to simply enjoy a bowl of mussels and a glass of wine. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Gave it 1 star because I called and asked about gluten free menu. There was no such thing. Every time we tried to order our waiter had to get the chef and point out what was ok. Very unprofessional for a restaurant that claims they are gluten free on another websites. We ordered ahi tuna and received 4 pieces that were a quarter of an inch thick. Really? Then when we finished, 2 bites later, we noticed that under the cabbage was soy sauce. Which is a huge red flag for gluten. Simply put if you're celiac, don't bother. If not venture on, and you can continue the review, we didn't stick around. PS the staff was great, very friendly. It was like they were put in an awkward situation.

A delightful bistro with delicious food...been there a handful of times and always delighted. Shockingly enough, also has one of my favorite cocktails...a champagne number with fresh grapefruit juice. I only gave 4 stars as the patio is great, the inside restaurant could be updated some. Nevertheless, lovely little gem in La Quinta. Worth the visit.

The service was excellent, but the meal was only good, not great. The bread, however, was very good and freshly made. I had the beef bourguignon and the caesar salad. The salad was not good at all, way too sweet for a caesar salad. The beef in the bourguignon was a little plain, meaning the beef was probably overcooked. For two people, each having a salad and the bourguignon, and one glass of wine between the two of us (I was driving, so I had water), the total cost was $100 before the tip.

The menu choices are supposedly French. I don't mean to sound snobby, but just coming back from vacationing in France (as well going to several French restaurants in San Francisco)... I'm afraid this food does not compare. Last time I checked- tacos, albiet duck confit tacos, are not an authentic French meal. And their wine by the glass selection is not that good. The service was quite slow for a Monday evening off season, it was not that busy. But maybe I went on an off night. On the other hand, my mother absolutely loves this place (it's also loved by many other Palm Springs residents). It makes her happy, and that what my trips to Palm Springs are all about. Yes, I'll go back again and give it another try since I've only been here once, but just be aware that this is not totally French cuisine. More like French/Mexican cuisine. Don't let the name of this restaurant fool you.

My party of 4 showed up last night at 8:40, hostess confirmed that the kitchen was still open, and are we glad ! We sat on lovely patio and started with escargot and French bread, then we split two wedge salads. Then our main entres veal codon blue, mussels, tarte, breaded veal cutlets. All accompanied with a glass of Cote du Rhone Guigal. Everything was delicious. Since we were the last patrons of the evening we were treated to wonderful service! It was truly an evening to remember!

Our entrees were fabulous, the salads and dessert, not as good. I had the Ahi tuna which was excellent. There was a seaweed salad served as a garnish which was fabulous. I only wish there was more of it. My husband's pork chop was also very good. Our salads were disappointing. My husband's heirloom tomatoes were not ripe, and one piece was woody. My mixed greens with goat cheese was scanty and barely dressed (and I don't like a lot of dressing!). I had had this salad a few years ago and it was much better before. Our chocolate lava cake was a real disappointment. They would do better with the Ghiradelli Chocolate recipe. Our waitress, Emily, was great. She fixed our shaky table and made our evening very nice.

This is the best french bistro I have ever encountered. The Caribbean salad rocks. Flat iron steak is perfect with the side of truffle fries! Creme brulle is really amazing! Don't fill up before desert! Greg is my fave waiter! Jonny my fave bartender!

Greetings are important! Last night, we went to Brasserie where we have dinned a number of times as we eat out six nights a week. When we sat down with a guest I asked if we were in time for the three course special menu?. The server said "no more three course specials, no more happy hour!" Now all she had to say was, "I'm sorry, but there is no more..........." It was really a little upsetting and as every restaurant that is open and has happy hours, they don't stop them in September. This restaurant, that really has an excellent chef, a little pricey, but my trout almondine was excellent and always is de boned perfectly. As we eat out so much, because of the prices, we make this a monthly stop rather than weekly.

We were in Palm Springs for the weekend. My gf and I are novices with French food, as we've been to about 6 or 7 French restaurants so far. This one was top notch. Our server (Calvin?) was super polite and was on it. In fact we were the last guests to leave the place and they didn't rush us one bit. The hostess was great and remembered that we had called ahead for a table. The other servers even greeted us and welcomed us into the restaurant. The employees were all busy cleaning and serving guests' needs. The food was awesome. I mostly wanted to impress my gf and she loved the bread, french onion soup and Hearts of Romaine Cesar salad. I had the french onion soup and Roasted Chicken Breast. The soup was awesome and very cheesy, just the way I like it. I hate how other restaurants' french onion soup flavor is unbalanced. There's always one dominating flavor or sometimes a weird smell... not at this place. The soup flavors all came through perfectly and the portion size was good. With one glass of wine our total was $62. Very worth it. If we are in town again we will for sure return.

I've been here for lunch several times, and every time I get the same order-- the Croque Monsieur sandwich with french fries. HEAVEN. I wish I knew how to duplicate the cream dipping sauce, because it is absolutely amazing. My boyfriend usually gets the burger, which is also an amazing choice. We enjoy ourselves everytime we go. We've had some amusing times with the water bottle-top contraption, as well!

From beginning to end, we absolutely loved everything about this place. To start, the decor and ambiance is lovely....everywhere you look, there is something interesting or pretty. The tables are very close together in one area, but it actually encouraged us to have a conversation with the very nice people at the next table, which is something we would not normally do. Our server Erik was awesome in every way. His wine recommendation was perfect (we ordered a second bottle) and after that, we pretty much let him guide us through the menu. We started with the cheese platter, which came with the most delicious pieces of honeycomb. We found out later that the actual honeycomb was sitting in a big jar behind us, so I guess you can't much fresher than that! The cheese and honey went perfectly with the fresh baguette and other assorted bread they brought out while we were waiting. At Erik's recommendation, we shared a Caprese salad (I know, not very French) but it was so fresh and so full of flavor, it doesn't matter what it's origins might be. Fresh heirloom tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, fresh basil, an incredible burrata cheese and a few sprigs of fried basil, which I have never had or even heard of before, but it definitely gave it a wow factor. The whole thing was so creamy and cold and fresh, I really didn't want it to end! For our entrees, I had the fillet, with green beans and pomme Anna and again at Erik's recommendation, my husband had the salmon special, which he said was beyond amazing. My fillet was good, cooked just a bit too well for my taste but the green beans were so much better than what I've had before, I'm dying to know their secret! The potatoes were good but I was just a little too full by that point to really enjoy them. We finished off with Fraise Melba, which I believe was vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and couli, topped with Grand Marnier! So, so, so very good!! We had such a good meal and an all around good time here, I actually tried to find a way to go back for lunch the next day, but it it didn't work into our plans, lol. Thank you everyone at La Brasserie, we will be back very soon!

This was my second time to "feast" at lunch. I had the Quiche and it was to die for!!! Service was fine but walking in and being greeted by the hostess gave us a kind of "snobby restaurant" feel. The quiet atmosphere was a welcome extra as most restaurants in the valley have horrible accoustics!! Wind was bad in the courtyard so everyone came scrambling in but was accommodated quickly. Will return when my budget allows!

In the La Quinta area for a conference and this was one of the recommended restaurants. A group of about 10 of us showed up as well as a few other large groups and they accomodated everyone well. The service was great and didnt' seem to be impacted by the number of large groups. There was a good wine selection and the only down side was the location in a strip mall. The inside was very nice, but it was a little off-putting to walk into a nicer end restaurant stuck int he middle of a strip mall. Just overlook that because this place is worth checking out.

Ok, we strolled into this place last night late (for La Quinta). 9 pm or so, and we were the last table seated. The menu looked outstanding. My culinary French is a bit rusty, so thanks for putting everything in English as well. I immediately decided I wanted to try lots of apps instead of just the more traditional app, entree, dessert route, and I'm glad I did. Charcuterie and steak tartare. Both very good. If I had to gripe about anything, I would say that the tartare had a bit too much dijon for my taste, and that the prosciutto wasn't shingled out very nicely on the charcuterie, making it difficult to get a nice, thin slice. It is truly a stretch to complain about either of these dishes, and the celery root slaw was great, as was the dried tomato skin garnish on the charcuterie. Next was the trotter cakes over the frisee salad. Hmm, I had a salad, so I ate healthy right? Seriously, it was like a very soft pate perfectly panko breaded and fried over the bitter frisee. Delicious. 5 stars. I dreamed about it. Wifey had the butternut ravioli at this point. She loved it. I thought it was a bit dry and could have used more sauce, though the sage brown butter was nice. The pasta was a bit thick, but overall, again, I am struggling to find anything wrong with the dish. We finished it off with the moules frites. Broth was excellent. Mussels were nice and plump. We finished every last one. The fries were good. House-made shoestrings. We were really too into the mussels to really give them more than a cursory taste. As to service, our server was very attentive without being overbearing. I do believe he was the same French server described in one of the reviews above, but we had a very different experience for sure. Water was always full. Table was bussed in advance of the next course arriving. Cocktail and wine was quick to the table, and refills were offered. It was weird that he sat for a moment with another table, but I gather they are regulars and it certainly didn't deprive us of anything, so to each his own. We will be back. Soon. Wifey has to try the onion soup. I hope his isn't better than mine.

Audrey L - In response to Matt K's comment. It's great to hear that you have no doubt that the ambiance at 'La Brasserie" is very authentic and unique, the service attentive, professional and friendly... and the food simply outstanding and the best in the Valley ... BUT I strongly believe that each and every customer should have that same experience you describe in the paragraph above. I unfortunately did not. This restaurant was recommended by a regular and I was very excited to check it out. Yes the restaurant is authentic! unique! The hostesses were gracious the menu enticing! ... but when I'm there for about an hour (not by choice) and am only able to order one martini because the server has not checked back and asks "Is there anything else I can get for you"? while he is dropping the check ,,, well either we caught him on a bad day or maybe he just nees a liitle help with consistently delivering that same experience you describe to each and everyone of his guests. I believe that there are many people out there that can forgive mediocre food, but if the service is below standard, do you think they'll be as forgiving?? I am definitely not. Like Matt said in his review, this server could be costing the owner money but as a free standing restaurant here in the desert, I'm sure every review, good or bad, is valueable to the management team. Much success to La Brasserie and Bar!

Beautiful establishment, great dishes...service sucks. I would like to thank our server for doing everything in his power to ignore us even though we were one out of two of his tables. To the owner: this guy (French, long side burns, his name starts with an "O") has modeled his customer service skills after the DMV's. He is costing you money. *My review got enough negative comments that I should probably explain. I didn't put the servers name on my review but left enough info for his manager to hopefully identify his weakness (not touching his tables for over an hour, making me ask for my check three times while he talked to other servers in an empty restaurant for over 20 minutes) as a server and help him improve or find a new profession. If I was running this place I would want to know if one of my servers was running customers off. I agree with most of the comments here. And I can tell you that the establishment itself is beautiful and I really liked the dishes. When you walk through the doors you will be amazed. Hopefully that will be how you feel when you leave as well. I am not the competition and I am not exagerating my experience. Read T B B.'s experience and that is right on par with my own.

First off i love watching the chef run around like a chicken with his head cut off. The food is decent, but ive had better snails in my backyard. Also the music was ok, but the karaoke singers that he has in there from time to time need to go.

Kara added a comment about my experience which added fuel to the fire. We made reservations on Saturday morning, Stephanie called us back to confirm that day, we called back to confirm and our table was gone. We still have the vmail message. Stop lying and start learning how to run a restaurant. My suggestion would be to avoid this place; RUDE!

I liked this place, loved sitting outside on the patio...did not like they only served *certain* items between 2-4..but give you the menu...would have been fine if they had told us this before we made our choices..but I can say they did make the items that we wanted. The steak tartare was hmmm...a little too much mustard, it's been so long since I've had it..I was a lil disappointed. The onion soup was amazing..and the seafood salad made me wish I had ordered that. I'm looking forward to trying the menu again, perhaps for dinner...They do allow pets on the patio which is a plus for all the dog lovers out there!

My friend and I were planning to meet for drinks and appetizers on a Friday afternoon. I wanted to go somewhere casual (aka inexpensive). However, my friend with champagne taste on a 40oz budget suggested a new French place everyone was raving about. French doesn't sound casual! However, I reluctantly agreed since I didn't have a better suggestion. We get there and just missed happy hour. A sea of white hair is occupying the bar area. My friend and I in our 30s to 40s are the youngest people there for the night. It's obviously a fancy, white table cloth place. We sit down to a very helpful and friendly waiter. Everything I ate was absolutely delicious. I ordered the goat cheese salad and butternut squash ravioli. My friend ordered the fish which she loved as well. I tried a piece of the risotto from her plate which I ended up stealing more of later. Wine was flowing and it was a great time. The waiter even gave us a free dessert to split, which I'm assuming was because of my friend's generous cleavage. The bill wasn't even that upsetting to my cheap a$$ because the food was that good. I am definitely going back!

My favorite place to eat while I'm in the area. Very nice decor, clean, and great food. I enjoy sitting on the patio when it's not too hot. Nice portions, not too big. Affordable, and in a nice area. The desserts are really special. This review is a little disjointed but from the heart.

Sorry to say a little disappointed. My French onion soup had a slight burned taste not sure if it was the cheese or the broth and my escargot wasn't garlicky enough for me. I prefer both more at La Palmie in Palm Desert. Service was average! 38.20 for glass of house wine, 12 escargot and crock of French Onion soup. seems a little pricy.

This new spot has potential. The lunch service was impeccable, attentive, and we had a knowledgable server who was friendly, and efficient. They shower you with refills on your drinks which for me was delicious, specially brewed decaffeinated coffee, steaming hot. The companions large glass of iced tea kept constantly being filled until he was sated! We sat next to the pretty waterfall/fountain and right under the misters so I wasn't crazy about the little sprinkles of water I could occasionally feel. The new owner has redone the former Beach Cafe (I think it was called) at Washington and Hwy 111, catercorner from The Beer Hunter (not my kind of place) and it is beautifully outfitted with all new interior and has a sweet little bar section in the rear. Outside is an extremely inviting courtyard. Parking is fairly easy also but don't get hit crossing the ingress! The menu was nice; the dessert choices were a little lacking for my taste, but I will get to that later. My main course was the Quiche Lorraine, again a little individual pie. It was pretty and steaming hot,and the crust was browned and flaky, it had lots of ham cubes bu overall it was too salty for my taste. The little salad of bagged mixed frisee, (rather than freshly prepared greens from scratch) etc., was dressed in too tart and mustardly of a vinagrette. I would have preferred a choice between either balsamic or some kind or blue cheese for my dressing. I missed a sweetness contrast to my meal. The companion enjoyed the Orange Peel Chicken and like a man, did not say much except that is was good. The dessert....I would have liked to have seen a lava cake, a lemon tart, maybe white chocolate cheesecake, perhaps a cranberry tart with marzipan paste. What I DID choose and LOVED was a profiterole delicacy with vanilla ice cream and a wonderful hot fudge sauce...and quite a large serving. It was truly wonderful!!! I hope they keep it on the menu. All in all, I would like to go there at sunset, I am sure it's lovely. I would recommend it!

I don't know why this place doesn't have more stars. My meal was fantastic, so was my husband's; the service was outstanding. I would recommend this place to anyone! I'm really glad we came...and we will come back.

Slow service, worlds worst BLT, weak tasteless coffee...... Lots of excellent places to dine in the area. This was a waste of time and money.

This has become our new favorite spot for dinner. The food is always so fresh and wonderfully prepared. The serving staff is very knowledgable and if you have a special request they will work with the kitchen to accommodate you.

okay it's my absolute pet peeve about times and restaurants. my dad wanted to treat us to a lunch during vacation. we walked in after seeing the rating of "best french" on the outside. sat down ordered ice tea and loved the menu. owner/manager walks up to us and says sorry 2:09PM so you can only eat the items with a fleu de lis sign next to them. sandwiches?! one of us wanted the mussels...nope. my dad wanted a cooked dish...nope. wow. i get sitting down at 2:30PM but 9minutes? well that's it for us. we went to our usual place daily grill. they are wonderful. they serve you what you want and don't make you get up and leave because you missed chow time by 9 minutes. we have probably spend over $2,000 there this winter already. i don't know about the rest of you but trying to eat at a new place and walking out is not the best way to increase your business. i'm bummed because we really wanted to try it but not with a stop watch ticking.

Simply wonderful! The food here was VERY GOOD but the service was truly exceptional. From the waiter to the owner-chef all were so accommodating and made our anniversary dinner perfect. The pricing the meals was more than reasonable given the level of preparation and attention. Don't miss it!

Brasserie, the French word for brewery & adding the word bistro to boot , the operative words here are casual ambiance, & uncluttered, not overly wrought food. At least from the chalkboard in front of Brasserie, there is Happy Hour all night although it doesn't say if that is effective only at the bar area or not. The interior theme is white w/ medium brown warm varnished wood trim, & of course, brass rails for accent. I made last minute reservation for 7:30pm on a Saturday at off peak season of early August for a table, but when I arrived, they told me a table wasn't ready yet so they directed me to the small bar area that seats at most 8. I waited awhile, but since things weren't happening, I asked, Christina, the bartendress, to set me up. I ordered the Canard a l'Orange for two so I decided not to get an appetizer, and opted on getting a wine that would become an aperitif as well as a good pairing for the roast duck. This Cote du Rhone by Guigal from south of France was deep, shiny, dark red almost purplish. Aromas of fresh fruits w/ red berries like smoky cherry, blue berry, plum & spice notes of cinnamon, cloves. Full rounded, smooth tannins. A full-bodied, rich & intensely aromatic wine. This is where the restaurant gets its well deserved mark up. $12 per glass vs $15 per bottle via internet. The 1/2 duck portion was generous, roasted a nice dark golden brown tan which may have been basted w/ a bit of Cointreau, orange liqueur & garnished w/ bright green finely chopped parsley. The part of the orange brown semi demi-glace sauce seemed to be from the drippings from the duck w/ a tiny bit of Grand Marnier. The unusual flavour may have been a bit of fennel seed infusion in the sauce which added a licorice-like undertone that complemented the slight gaminess of the duck. The duck was meaty w/ a nice chaw, but tender & moist. Two slices of juicy navel orange slices could be used to refresh the mouth after eating the duck or squeezed into the sauce for more orange flavour. There are options for 2 sides which could lean toward the starches or the veggies. To stay on the light side, I opted for the spinach & Mediterranean vegetables. The bright green soft, luscious spinach was in a light chicken broth & butter. The Mediterranean vegetables were a mélange of sliced zucchini, yellow squash, red bell pepper, caramelized onions & what made it "Mediterranean" was the addition of cured, brined small de-seeded Kalamata olives that added a salty tang to the natural subtle sweetness of the vegetables. Pear Tart looked very rustic & home made. The rough shaped base was made of flour dough w/ almond crème & micro thin slices of pear embossed on top & a dollop of salted caramel ice cream. The texture is more like our Southern biscuit which is more doughy & pasty unlike the more sophisticated lighter pastries from Ile de France. Lines of brown, viscous brown sugar caramel sauce created almost Celtic rune like tattoo patterns around the tarte. In fact, this kind of humble pastry could have come from Bretagne where the predominant people are of Celtic origin. Kouign Amann is another example of Celtic pastry from Bretagne. Café Americain is espresso slightly watered down. It still retains the foamy top, but not so dark & rich. However, the amount is about 4 times that of espresso so that it fills a standard American tea cup. On the same flavour profile as espresso, but diluted, Café Americain was an excellent foil to the heavier doughier Pear Tarte. Overall, the food here to me is 3++ Yelp stars. I find the atmosphere & food at Cuistot to be better along with Fred, the sommelier, who is a great host & knows his wines being able to advise on food/wine pairings admirably, but Christina, the bar-t at La Brasserie, really saw to my comfort as a customer. She was helpful, friendly, hospitable so I would like to raise it to 4- Yelp stars.

I really wish we could give half-stars as I would like to give 3.5 to this place. We ate here on Friday nighr while in town for Coachella. Pros: - authentic French food. The onion soup was really good. - friendly service and accommodative to those with kids ( I had my toddler with me) Cons: - the other dishes were decent enough but nothing phenomenal - the service from our waitress was sometimes distracted. The busboys were great but the waitress seemed very pre-occupied with other patrons. I guess they treat their regulars really well but it was less than ideal that the treatment was very obvious.

First time diners enjoyed a good quality meal at this solid no frills traditional French eaterie. Excellent service from Joe added positively to the overall experience, dishes that stood out were onion soup, calves liver, cassoulet and veal tenderloin. A bit of a drive from our home in Rancho Mirage but if we're in the area we'll definitely give La Brasserie another try. One nit to pick---Open Table says seating requests aren't guaranteed but when we arrived to a half empty patio we were told all outdoor tables were reserved!! Huh?! How?????

To get out of the heat, enjoyed a nice lunch here. Good service and food prepared perfectly. Had the Croque Monsieur sandwich and French onion soup. My friend had the Crispy Calamari Salad. Always love coming here.

This charming French restaurant is absolutely one of our most favorite. On Tuesday night middle of July, they had many customers, that is a sign of good restaurant in the Desert! You can enjoy both Bar menu and regular menu at any tables. We really enjoyed Charcuterie and Cheese Platter which go very well with Cremant D'alsace. Mussels Mariniere is great for light dinner. Escargot is a little too salty for me, sorry. But more than anything else, I love their rack of Lamb! Very grateful for one of Yelp review here recommended this dish:) I have dined many great restaurants in France, Tokyo, NY and Lamb is always my favorite main course. The one I had here was beautifully seasoned with herbs and perfectly cooked. Very impressed. There are so many "very-French" dishes I would like to try such as Frog legs, Duck L'orange, Calf Liver. I can't wait next visit. Thank you, Chef!!!

Great French cuisine and great service as well. I found this establishment highly recommended on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We got here late and decided to sit at the bar but the staff offered the dinner menu if we wanted and I looked it over and it looked great but we decided to order off the bar menu instead as we were feeling like smaller portions and sharing. We started with the calamari and frog legs as an appetizer. The calamari was cooked great and also served over a coleslaw type mixture that complimented it well. The frog legs were fried also and were very tender and tasted great. After that we had both the steak frites with truffle fries and the steak tartar. Both tasted great and the steak frites was cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend this establishment if you are in the area as it is resonably priced and the food quality and service was great.

Okay so I have been dieting but today we decided to have a small cheat. Let me say I would cheat here every 2 weeks... I've only had the chicken fettuccine pesto, calamari, and garlic bread but if that's how they cook fewww... yummy! Hate to pay for garlic bread but it's an actual pizza... haha. Music could be a bit more eclectic but Italian music.. I get it

I wish I could teach people that eat at restaurants and visit hotels how to properly provide a review that is useful to people looking for honest feedback on the location you're trying to get an idea of. For example, the majority of the reviews we read whether here or TripAdvisor all indicated the food and service was good and that they'd go back again. What kind of review is that!? We scoured the menu for what seemed like 30 minutes looking for the right dishes to order, most outstanding on the menu was the rack of Lamb but no where in any reviews could we see anyone's opinion of it, surely a $30+ dish doesn't stay on the menu by sucking which means countless people have probably ordered it but never written about it. This shocked me because we ended up biting the bullet (ended up being a plastic bullet because there should have never been any doubt!) as the rack of lamb was by far the best I've ever had in my life. My friend Jen who ordered it just kept mumbling to herself how good it was, like she was in an 80's music trance repeating itself over and over again. Curious about this trance I asked for a bite, shortly thereafter I too, was in the same trance. So flavorful, creative combination of spices on it and cooked to perfection. I mean my dish, the hangar steak frite was no second fiddle because that was ridiculously awesome as well but damn.......rack of lamb......drooooool. My other friend had the seafood pasta special which was more seafood than pasta (perfect for those carb haters like myself) and for desert we shared the fresh strawberry "melba", the chocolate lava cake and the creme brûlée. No one left unsatisfied, you can rest assured! Do yourself a favor, eat here, if you have any doubts, you're just being silly.

La Brasserie is Incroyable (INCREDIBLE)! Sylvia was our server, and she was perfectly attentive and friendly. I came with a Parisian friend who has a home in the area. He loves this wonderful restaurant for the ambiance, French music, Moroccan water fountain and of course, the extraordinary French cuisine ! We ordered the delicious onion soup, butter lettuce salad, cassoulet with confit de canard and frisée aux lardons. The warm bread, both brown and sourdough, were spectacular. All of the food deserved more than five stars. We topped it off with the house specialty dessert, an pear tarte with yummy salted caramel ice cream! I will look forward to coming back for another remarkable dining experience.

We have been to this restaurant several times. The food and service has been consistently good. Escargot among the best we have had if you like lots of butter and garlic. We have had had the veal, liver, duck, sole, cassoulet and all were delicious and nice size portions. The mistake we made on one late afternoon was to order the chicken as a salad. It was only s piece of chicken plopped on some greens. So so. Stick to the hot cooked meals. The chocolate mousse is fabulous and arrives with three yummy scoops of mousse. Easy to share. It is the best of the desserts we have tried. Sylvie our server most of our visits is from France and a delight.
